About 5 or 6 weeks ago I developed a rash on my scalp which quickly spread to a patch on my forehead. I could not stop the itch no matter what I did. I bought several types of medicated shampoos and creams, nothing worked. Then it began to spread around my head to under my ears and across the nape of my neck and down my back , about 10 inches down my back. It's impossible not to scratch, utterly impossible. I went to the doctor who gave me a steroid shot and put me on a strong antihistimine and more steroid pills. Nothing worked. Now it's all over my hips and buttocks and a patch on my belly. It's red bumps that don't look like much until I scratch, then the whole area gets raised. It's also on my shoulders and forearms but in these two places it's not that bad. As soon as I finished the steroid pills I caught a cold so now I am itchy, coughing, sore throat, sneezy, stuffed up nose.......What I did to deserve this I don't know.
Does anyone know of anything that can numb your skin enough so that I can get enough relief to get some sleep? I can't even get to the doctor or the drug store for a while yet, I'm in a rural area and I'm snowed in. Do they make novacaine cream? I've tried lanacaine, it barely takes the edge off.

Try calendula cream or try a natural lotion. They usually have calendula and other similar ingredients in them. You can find these in almost any health shop.
