I just started 40 mg zocor( generic version). My question is does zocor cause dizziness or anxiety. This what I am experiencing with it. I also take Paxil and Lotrel. Can it be combination of these medicines with zocor? let mek know...

shopgirl,
Statins like Zocor are not at all likely to cause dizziness but of course Paxil can.
Since Zocor strongly affects the liver's functioning, and if Paxil is metabolized by the liver, the two drugs can be potentiating one another. The literature doesn't mention the interaction as common.
There is also some mention that Paxil and any heart rhythm med can be problemmatical...Lotrel is such a med.
Ask your doctor to look hard into any likely interactions.
Paxil alone can be the offender unless you've taken it for a long time.
SIDE EFFECTS: The most commonly noted side effects associated with paroxetine are anxiety, sweating, nausea, decreased appetite, somnolence (sleepiness), dizziness, insomnia, and male sexual disturbances. Dry mouth occurs in about 18% of patients taking paroxetine.
