I have been reading so many posts on the troubles you are all having with your child's school.
I posted to another thread, but I feel the need to tell you all....PLEASE...learn the in's and out's of the law, KNOW that you have rights, and you can use them to your advantage.

If you ask for testing or a meeting for your child, most states are REQUIRED to have that meeting within a set amount of time.

Stand up for your child, scream and pound on the door if you have to. I learned this the hard way, and my daughter went over a year without therapy because I listened to them. I am just learning all the things I can do to make life better for my child, and I am starting to use this to my advantage. I was lucky enough to become friends with someone who is dealing with this all the time. She even has the number memorized of the STATE DISABILITIES person. He will come up here from WAY down south if she just calls him and tells him she doesn't like what is going on.

SO PLEASE BE AN ADVOCATE FOR YOUR CHILD. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING, THEN FIND OUT. And if you don't like it, change it! In the long run, your child will be a better person because of it! I am surprised at how strong I have become...but when it comes to my daughter and her learning...I can become a mother bear very quickly!

good luck, and please let me know if I can help you in any way.

take care! Lindy

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner,,,but I have never heard of the 1504...I will look through my daughters paperwork and see if I have one. Does it look like the others with goals on it?

Anyway, if I ever find out how to get it ok'ed to put websites on here, I will send you a couple of good ones. Take care!
