View Full Version : How do you know if it's IBS or "bug"?

Lately there's so many things going around, I don't know if the last two days I've had a stomach "bug" or it's the IBS. Yesterday I had 2 bouts of pretty bad.. "D", but was ok the rest of the day. This morning, I had cramping and some loose stools, but nothing horrible but I felt slightly nauseous all day. I've been able to eat, been drinking chamomile and fennel tea....I don't know if anyone else ever wonders, or how do you really know??....thanks.

I've never been able to figure that one out either. Time is the only way I can tell. If it lasts longer than a few days I know it's IBS. Until then I have no clue! lol

BTW, mint tea can be really good for the gut as well. If you like tea, that might be one to add to the list.

I've also wondered that myself.....If the symptoms last for more than 3 months & nothing was found (test wise).....I guess most Dr.s would probably go for the IBS Diagnosis. Maybe some would wait 6 months...but that seems a bit long.

Hope you feel better!

Like the others have said, it takes some time to figure out IBS. For me it seems to be triggered with certain foods, or stressful situations.
