I have been battling a cold/sinus infection so I went to the dr at the beginning of the month. I had already been on my period for a week (THEN) I am very anemic more so than I realized because she mentioned transfusions and other scary stuff. So they put me on 3 doses of iron a day (which made me VERY ill so I cut back) She also put me on a BC pill she said to STOP my bleeding right then. I had my tubes tied so I was only taking it for that purpose. 3 1/2 weeks later (after my period started) I'm still bleeding.
WHAT DID SHE DO TO ME? I stopped taking the pill once I realized it or the iron was wrecking complete havoc on my body. I felt way worse than I did before seeing the dr.
I tried to make another appt with her but she was "out of the office" seems to be the usual there so I am looking into getting seen somewhere else.
Has this happened to anyone else and will I ever STOP bleeding? If it was the pill wouldn't it have stopped shortly after I stopped taking the pill? I took a weeks worth.

I would definetley find a different doctor! Taking the pill for a week could actually increase the chances of you bleeding, when you stop abruptley. It takes a few months for the pill to take effect. This happened to me also. By the second month it was straigtened out. As for your anemia, there are different iron pills that can cause less upset to your system. They made me sick too. Try to look up foods that will increase your iron supply in your body (in the meantime). Good luck.:)

Thanks Yea I don't know what her thinking was I would have been better off had I just finished my period as usual.
Yes as far as the iron I had some other pills that I was prescribed during my pregnancy and I tried them and they don't make me as sick. The ones she gave me were DUAL Iron pills no idea what that means but 3 a day was probably way too much for my system.
Yea I have blackstrap molasses and I've been eating spinach. Luckily it's one of my favorite foods. heh
Hopefully it will stop soon, it's been less today but as soon as I get my hopes up it comes back, so we'll see I guess.
