there's medicinal herbs that will boost your mood, but if your depression is the result of a chemical imbalance (as most cases are) i'm afraid you are going to have to see a doctor. Just make sure that what he prescribes you is something that you agree with. Do some research on different antidepressants. I will say right now to stay away from Effexor XR. Bad, bad, bad.

I've found that taking vitamin B Complex + C helps take the edge off. The store brand works fine and isn't expensive... sometimes you buy 1 get 1 free. I did a search for mood enhancement vitamins and found that all of the B vitamins and C help alot.
My Pharmacist agreed with the benefits of taking them. If you're taking any medications, tell the pharmacist... It's alot easier to talk to a pharmacist than a doctor... and it doesn't cost anything for their knowledge.
I've been on B Complex for about a month or 2. I'm not 100% yet, but I do feel noticeably better.
DON'T TAKE MORE THAN THE PACKAGE SAYS TO !!!
THEY'RE VERY STRONG!!!

Good luck, hope this helps.

I've had enough of it all, all i want is some ****ING DRUGS TO MAKE ME BETTER. I'm going to go to my health clinic at 9am tomorrow and i dont even care if i need an appointment. I will wait around the whole day and hopefully speak to someone. AT THE MOMENT I JUST WANT TO GIVE UP. I AM SO ****ED OFF WITH MY LIFE. I really want to start a new life but theres this ****ING MENTAL BLOCK!!!!.

Actually Antidepressants work slow.

Best bet is try a board certified psychiatrist.

Also Louise Hay and Dr. Phil have great audiobooks that work really fast for me.

I would call 911. Go to the hospital right now.

You may also want to consider adding talk therapy to your routine. Meds are great, but they have been shown to be even more effective when combined with talk therapy.
Good luck!

Hey, don't waste your time on over-the-counter meds. They don't require a prescription, as far as I'm concerned, because they simply don't work. People like to think they do because that's what the pill pushers say, but if you want real help, go to your doctor and have him prescribe what he feels you need. Forget SAMe (way too expensive) St. Johns Wort, etc., because they just don't work, as far as I'm concerned.
