Hi,
I'm 15 and I haven't gotten my period. My mom and my sister got theirs around 11 and 12 years old. I'm still a virgin, and am in good health.
Recently ( a few months ago) I started bleeding from my vagina, but the blood came out in blobs and there was also dark brown blobs as well. It never leaked onto my underwear, it only appears when I whipe myself. It is oderless and it doesnt cause me cramps or anything.
I've been keeping track of when it happens, the last time it happened was Jan. 2nd, and now it came back a few days ago. It's not a monthly thing (like a normal period) it's almost become bi-weekly.
I'm not really sure what to do, I know I should probably see a doctor. I was just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone before?

I am 21 and I started my first period on my 13th birthday. Unlike you though my first period was extremelly heavy. Over the last 8 yrs I have experienced brown black and even a little bit pink and white blood. I've went to all sorts of docs and finally at 16 they figured I had endometriosis. I have always had irregular periods. They also were always EXTREMLY PAINFUL! Its sounds like u are in the beging stages of your period. Its probably that your body is trying to start and you have old blood (the brown blobs). I had periods with only a 2 week intervil for about 6 months, talk about irritating. I understand what your going through and once your body understands what it needs to do you should start to become more regular. Also my doc recomended that I DO NOT where tampons unless I absolutly have too. My endometriosis is very painful even without my period so take into consideration that this could be a possibility. They only way that they know for sure is by a laproscopic procedure that is rather uncomfortable. I hope this helped in some way also drink milk you need calcium and try not to take to much of tylenol. I have found midol to be very useful until about a year after my surgary, of course though I do have endo.. so dont think that it couldn't help for you. Also stay active and exercise to help reduce painful periods (so my doc says.)

It may be later than most, but I also started my period when I was 15, almost 16. I remember that the blood was very dark brown, probably for the first few months. And not very plentiful - just some spots and marks on my underwear. I also had a very large swing in cycles - sometimes they would be 18 days long and other times they would be 38 days long. Until I went on the pill, I was not "regular". I wouldn't worry too much, but if you are stressed about it, seeing a doctor will not hurt. If you are sexually active, you could see a gynecologist. I see an Internist so that I don't have to go to 2 doctors every year (for a physical and a pap smear).
I am now 30 and have been on the pill for about 7 years - and do not have any major problems with my cycle or endometriosis. Everyone is different so do not panic. I was definitely the last one of anyone I knew to get my period and it was awkward to talk about it since all my girlfriends were "experts" and I was very new to it. Hopefully, you have someone you can approach and talk about this with - it is the first of many many questions you will have about your body in the next 10 years!
Take care,
Sharon

I started my period at 14, when I was a freshman in high school. It started pretty similar to what you're describing. I wasn't even sure if it was my period since it wasn't red like I expected.

i got this disgusting brown stuff in my underwear 2 days before my period started, but it had a such a disgusting odor. i don't know, maybe only some girls have odors, but you should ask your mom or your doctor, because i only got mine once. but again, everyone is different.
