View Full Version : Tae Bo question??

Ok.....

So, I bought these tapes last night. Am I just a freak with absolutely no coordination, or is it normal to not be even a quarter through the introduction video because I'm struggling??? Think I will "get it" eventually if I just keep rewinding the intro video, before I move on? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif I also am seeming to have trouble keeping all those muscles tight, and doing all this stuff at the same time. (You can probally tell I don't exercise much http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif) Anyway, I assume this gets better?? I'm not really overweight or anything...5'8" 135lbs....I guess I'm just kinda weak. I REALLY want to get toned, and I REALLY need more energy! I am also planning on biking after the weather warms up a tad. Please help if you have any info or suggestions!!

Much love,

-Sapphie

Hi Sapphie,

I don't know if you can get it over there but I hired a video from my local library called the Y PLAN, it is an excellent starter video & will take you through to the advanced stages of exercise. No need for lot's of hand eye feet bum stuff.

LOL...It will get easier and easier as you use the tapes http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

It is perfectly acceptable to replay the beginner (or any other part) of the video repeatedly until you feel comfortable in moving to the next level.

Let us know how it goes!

Oh my gosh! I just had to reply to this!!! I couldn't get the coordiation right either! It took me serioulsy like a week or two before i could even get through the tape without rewinding it. It does get easier as you keep doing it though, and wait until you get the tape memorized b/c then you can really punch it out b/c you know what's coming up next.

Stick with it! I lost 15 lbs on just the basic tape.

Good luck!

Congratulations with all your success!

Hello,
As everyone else has mentioned, it does get easier after a few times of doing it. Dont worry about not keeping all your muscles tight when you are doing tae bo, that also gets easier as u do it more frequently. After the 3rd time that i did the video, i feel like my skin was tighter. Good Luck

I'm glad to see I am not the only one who feels out of sinc with this video!! I ripped my pants doing the back kicks!! But, if someone lost 15lbs doing the basic tape, I'll have to give it a try again! NO PANTS!!

LOL!!!
I also have those, tapes, and it trully is difficult having the chest, glutes, and everything he says tight. I feel very stupid doing those exercises so, I like to do them when no body is home!

Oh, these replies are TOO funny. My hubby and I did the basic intro tape and are doing the "Over 40" tape. There is a woman on this tape who is like 60-something and she's not even breaking a sweat! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif My husband and I are TRYING to get the coordination down without falling over and laughing ourselves silly! It does feel great and I think this is something we can actually stick with. Keep posting on here and let us know how you all are doing with good ole Billy. Now.....if we could only have muscles that look like his. I guess our couch-potato days are over, thank God, and doing this really does give you more energy! Good luck to all!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I pulled out my basic tape again and did it all the way through! Unfortunately, I had to go to the chiroprator because I THRU MY HIP OUT OF JOINT!!! I'm just getting those kicks much too high I guess!!
Good luck, everyone.

P.S. Steel Magnolia,
I had on one of those plastic suits to sweat!
They really make you sweat, but they are not for kicking!! I now have to tops and no bottoms!!
