Hey everybody

When you settle w/c has anyone had their meds included in the settlement? I take 3 perscriptions and was wondering if a provision for that could be put in any settlement.

Anyone know anything about this?? If it's 3 or 4 hundred a month that would be a big hit.

Thanks...Mike

When my husband considered a settlement with WC, it was made clear to us by our attorney that if we settled, WC would no longer pay for his meds, which are quite expensive. We were also told that our BC/BS would not cover these. We chose not to settle because he will be on these medications most likely the rest of his life. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

when my husband settled he settled with medical for life. either party can change this at any point and then he will be given a part of what was kept out for medical. Once WC pays on an injury no other insurance will pay for anything to do with it. Not all states will leave medical open.

From what my attorney said , was we could settle the Loss wage portion only ( if they will ) and keep our Medical. I'm sure you can wheel and deal with the insurance company but most like to settle everything. Thats up to you.

Thanks everybody,

I'll have to see what the attorney/wc says and I'll update.
