I've been on BP meds for over a decade now. Took various types, was on Propanolol for a long time.
I've had itchy skin at times, namely on the shins, thought it was due to dry skin, never paid much attention to it.
This last summer I decided to get off the beta-bocker and try something else...Benicar HCT, also taking Norvasc.
For the last few months, the itchyness has really gotten bad, shins, back, chest, arms. No rashes at all and it comes and goes, is this any side effect from BP meds? The timing of the increase of itchyness and the switch to Benicar HCT is close...
Wondering if I'm alergic to something or if BP meds are causing it???
Thanks!

You can try alternately stopping the Benicar and then the Norvasc to try to isolate if either is causing your itchiness. Probably 2 weeks should tell the tale.
