Hi:
Since this, past Summer, I have been experiencing severe dizziness along with nausea, then I went back to my neurologisit who rx'ed Propranolol that cured mild tremor I had in the past.

All tests, EEG and Dopper test/ultrasound was both negative, then he rx'ed Propranolol as seeing that I have high-blood pressure that causing severe dizziness along with nausea.

In the past, I took Diovan 5 mg. rx'ed by GP for about two - three months period, but this med. caused me to want to eat a very salty foods, Also, I had a dizziness while on this med. that made me quit this med. completely.

Now, on Propronolol, I feel better. However, wondering what difference in between two meds., Diovan and propranolol 5 mg. and gradually increased to 5 mg. bid. although so far so good experience on this, Propranolol 5 mg. once a day.

Thanks, ...

I've never heard of anyone taking only 5 mg of propranolol per day - that's a very small dose. I take 10 mg twice a day for irregular heartbeat and according to my doctor that's a small dose too. My mother takes 80 mg per day for high blood pressure and my mother-in-law used to take a much higher dose, I think it was 320 mg. I don't know anything about diovan, I'm afraid, but if a small dose of propranolol works for you without side effects then that's great.

I take much different doses of the two meds also...I take 320mg of diovan daily and I take 40mg of propranolol daily...maybe I am maxed but I think your doses do sound quite low....
