View Full Version : Tendinitis

My left wrist has been hurting since June. I went to the ER to get a xray of my wrist. It showed no broken bones. That week I went to my doctor who told me I had tendinitis. She told me to take advil and keep it wrapped in a bandage. A few months later, I went back to her because it wasn't getting better. She told me again that it was tendinitis and that it's going to take awhile for it to heal because it's in my wrist and because I keep using it. She said she can put me on light duty but with my type of work, it won't help. Besides, I use my hands when I do housework. I bought a brace that supports the wrist and thumb. It seem to be getting better but I think I reinjured it again. It's so hard trying not to use my left hand. I'm going back to her next month (for my yearly checkup) and I'll talk to her about it again.

I had tendiditis in my elbow a long time ago. I was in so much pain but it didn't take this long for it it heal.

I know it's not Carpal Tunnel because I don't have the tingling or the other symptoms.

Could they do corizone shots or put a cast on my wrist so I can't use my hand at all?

I was reading up on surgery to repair a tendon. From what I've been reading, it said they can repair it without knocking you out? I never had surgery before (knock on wood) and I'm afraid of being put under.

Any suggestion on what I can do to help heal my wrist?

Thank You,

Bernice
