okay so it has been 1wk since i received a letter from my atty and i am finely able to talk about it. i was sitting down in the living room when my lovely partner came in and handed me a letter from my attys office. i opened it thinking that it was going to be news finally letting me know of the federal court date. instead it said that since i hadn't turned in paperwork in a timely manner that SS has closed my case and since it is the last step in SS that the atty was closing my file. i thought i was going to faint.
i called them and wondered why. the paperwork that i didn't turn in in time was the one that ask about my living expenses so that way i wouldn't have to pay the $350. even though i did turn it in it wasn't on time.
well while i had that case going i also had a 2nd case going just in case but come to find out the law firm didn't even have it on file. i was so confused.
i had even gone in and the Atty herself filled out the daily activity question sheet. i even went to a Doc and Pschy doc that the SS sent me to and of course was denied on the first time. i called the attys office and let them know and they said that someone would call me back.
when i had this other atty and i called them to let them know i was denied they told me that they would appeal it after they received the denial letter, so i figured thats would automatically happen. i even called them after the SS person called me and asked if i had an atty and i told her yes and she said that she hadn't gotten anything saying that they represented me and that i should call them and have them fax it to her. again i did and i even called 2x's and gave them her name ph # and some kind of employee #.
i don't know who dropped the ball but i don't think it was all my fault.
i thought that's why you have any atty.
anyway, i have to start all over after 3 1/2 yrs of doing the 1st one.
i have to look at it on the bright side though because at least now this atty will be representing me from the beginning instead of coming in at the end.
i am going to do my best to make sure and take notes and this time of everything and log every phone call down. i am going to make sure they have every doctors name that i have seen.
what a trip huh?
hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
luv yall:D
