I've been on Yaz since July and this month I started spotting on and off for the last two weeks. I started throwing up and just not feeling well. I don't know if both are connected are if the spotting is just something that happens on birth control. My inactive pills will start on Wednesday, and i usually get my period on Sunday. why would i be spotting?

Also, I never take my BC at the same time every day because all of my friends on YAZ don't and don't have a problem. But here's another thing : I had diarrhea a few times this month because I took laxies and I was throwing up . Does that mean I wasn't protected? I mean my boyfriend and I hardly had sex this month because I had a yeast infection. But now I'm really nervous.

Well, if you are taking your pill inconsistently and not using backup when you have diarrhea or are throwing up, there is a possibility you could be pregnant. I guess you just have to wait and see. Usually, they say if you throw up within 4 hours of taking the pill, you should use backup or take another pill.

Spotting on the pill can happen any time even if you take the pill perfectly. But, if you take the pill at all different hours of the day, that can up the odds for breakthrough bleeding to occur. The throwing up/diarrhea may also be contributing to it. You should definitely try to take the pill at the same time daily to prevent breakthrough bleeding. In addition, taking your pill at different times (especially if it's more than 3 hours apart), can up the odds of a pill failure--it's not likely but no form of birth control other than abstinence is 100%...
