Anyone out there taking felodipine? If so what side effects have you noticed. I have been on it for three days and feel worse then I did before I started. It's doing nothing for my bp. My bp used to drop in the pm, but since I've been on the felodipine it stays about the same all day.

I've been on felodipine for about 7 months. Haven't really noticed any side effects to speak of. First couple of weeks I did have some slight off and on again headaches but that was about it - oh yeah and a lil dizziness when first on it that only lasted for a short time.

I never tried felodipine but the side effects should be very similar to amlodipine (Norvasc) which I DID take.
The amlodipine made me very "speedy"...amphetamine-like. Also my ankles swelled which has NEVER happened to me!
I discontinued it after a month...HATED IT!

It did nothing for my BP either.

Im on Felodipine 2.5mg. It certainly has worked on my blood pressure but it has given me side effects so much so that i came off it for 2 weeks to calm everything down. The side effects that i was getting was the same as i got with amlodipine and that is a cramping pain in my calves and painful hot stabbing in my feet. Within 4 days of coming off it the problems disappeared and after 2 weeks i went back on it again as its the only BP medicine that seems to control my pressure. So far the side effects have not materialised again and i hope they dont. 3 days is very early for your pressure to come down. You need to look at whats happening after being on it for 2 weeks. Barbara did it help your bp? What kind of numbers are we talking about? Felodipine is now drug #3 that I am taking and still seeing the numbers averaging 140/95. Sure would like some feedback on this.
