does your sex drive go back to normal?
I'm not planning on going off my BC any time soon, but I'm just wondering. Lately even more so than usually my sex drive has been SO horrible. I never feel like doing anything and most of the time I get really cranky when my bf tries to do anything sexual (I'm just like.. get OFF me lol, I don't feel like it!) it sucks though because before BC I was a lot different. So just wondering.. will I have the same sex drive I used to have once I stop taking it? I really hope so!
Also, are there brands that are better for that or do they all pretty much have the same effects? (lower sex drive) right now I'm on Notrel.

I've been off bc for 7 1/2 weeks and I find I'm starting to think about sex more. I've been on for about 12 years though - and I'm not sure if I'll ever feel like I did years ago.

I took BCPs for 7 years and stopped them 7 months ago. No way is my sex drive like it used to be before pills (but then, it was huge, practically in overdrive and I was a teenager then). Within a couple months of quitting, I noticed my sex drive begin to make appearances. Especially around the time I ovulate, I feel like I could have sex all day! But it's also shown up at other times in my cycle. Each month that goes by that I'm off the pill, my sex drive seems to improve more and more. Last weekend was my birthday, and my husband and I did celebrate...:D Anyway, I don't remember being so wet and aroused EVER...I think it sucks that they market a form of contraception to women that KILLS their libido...you KNOW they would never market a hormonal birth control pill for men that has the side effect of killing their sex drives!

As far as the pill goes, I think all hormonal birth control pills have a negative effect on libido, especially over time. I took probably 5 or 6 brands of pill over the years and they all killed my sex drive.
