Hey guys,

I have been using ortho tricyclen lo for the last five months, but last month my order for more ortho tricyclen didnt come in on time (by over a week) so I started taking seasonale (I accidentally bought it because my doctor sent me the wrong perscription about two months ago) because it was just laying around.

Well seasonale is a three month no period deal but I want to go back to ortho tricyclen lo by next month. So basically I took seasonale like a regular 28 day cycle pill, and I have currently skipped like a crap load of pills from seasonelle and went to the white ones after 21 days like a normal birth control pill.

I am also sexually active, should I be worried?
Am I still protected?
Was I still protected switching from ortho to seasonelle in the beginning?
Was it bad to skip right to the white pills?
I have taken two white seasonelle pills and I still havnt had a period (although I usually didnt have one until the third or fourth nonactive pill or whatever with ortho, but are the chemicals all the same??)

should I not freak out if I dont have a period this month after I take all the white ones and switch back to ortho?

If you started taking the Seasonale when you would have normally started your new pack of ortho, you were probably still protected. It would be just switching brands. My understading is Seasonale is similar chemically to other pills, just packaged and sold differently...so that you only get the one period every 12 weeks thing. I wouldn't swear to that though...so I'm not sure how protected you will be as you switch back over to ortho after a month of seasonale. if didn't normally get your period until your 3rd or 4th day of white pills, the same should be true with seasonale...you should probably get your period soon. If you are really freaked out, call your doctor. but i remember making the switch from regular 28 day pill packs (can't remember the brand) to seasonale, i just started seasonale when i would have started a new regular pack. no real issues switching.
