View Full Version : need for concern?

I'm 17 years old with a history of various cancers affecting the women in my family. Today, I found a small bump under my left breast, and at first I thought it was a pimple, but it's rather hard, and it's pretty painful. It's also really red and irritated because my bra sits right above it, which makes me wonder if it's just some sort of rash. I once had a benign cyst on my left shoulder, and had it removed. The bump on my breast is a little smaller than a pea...

I'm not sure if it's anything to show concern over, or if I should let it go. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

fibroadenomas (benign) are very common in teenagers but see a doctor. If he has concerns he should order a ultrasound not a mammo. The breasts of a 17 year old should not be exposed to radiation.
