Ok I know dr's try this med and that med right, Well I did have brain surgery and it helped in many ways but others no. I lost my job because of the surgery and when I did get a seizure I would now black out. The good things are my seizures have been like 90% better with no job and not worring about what has to be done or if it's being done right. Have any of you changed after surgery because your feeling better in life, Like don't bother with people like you use to or forget about famly etc. I would just like to hear and see what others are going threw. Now my meds are keppra and tegertol. Let me know Limeridge..

It depends what exactly you mean, Your post was not definitive.

I had surgery when I was young, due to a cluster of seizures (my first seizures). That helped reduce my seizures for quite some time. However they increased roughly 14 years after the surgery, and I needed to START working with the Dr's in what seemed like hopscotch of medications in an attempt to find control. That attempt to find control lasted for over 6 years until we found a mix that worked, avoiding a second operation. I would NOT allow them to conduct a surgery, even the implant.

For me something just changed and another med mix was needed after years of control. I had even held a drivers license and worked jobs.

Now, I find it nearly impossible to work, side effects of my meds are high, there is an energy drain in my case. I ended up (I'm in the US) getting approved for disability government benefits; that took years to be approved for in a paperwork fight.

I keep in touch with Family thankfully so that helps. Still in touch with the few friends I had (never had that many).

Currently I'm on Keppra (2625/day) TegXR (1600) and Topa (450).

I've never been an outgoing "type" (personality) of person, so the friends I have are always DEEP frienships that last.

I guess one question to consider (not needed to answer publicly) do you feel that the surgery has changed your personality type? That is a possibility. If you ever took a personality inventory before, take it again and see what the results are now, that could explain why some parts of your life are different if the surgery was a brain surgery.

Not sure how to direct you for advice if that is so. But if it is true, the books from a library may gain you insight.

Hi there well after reading that yes my personality has changed. I use to be like you staying home a lot not really a out going person. I would volunteer goto work and thats that. Now it's never home workout at the gym volunteer. I have to say after I was signed off of work thats when things made me be a ongoing person all the time.
Before my sugery I was like you say close to your family friend etc. After surgery made me a not so close to them like I use to be. My DR. has said at times some people that has gone threw surgery has changed many lifes out there. Which I was never told that that would happen to anyone. So a different side of the story comes out after surgery.
