I've lived in a warm climate all my life. But I just moved to a location where the winters are cold and it snows.

Every since I got here, my skin has been red. My face is red, my arms, and legs are all red. When I first moved, the skin on both my legs looked very cracked. So I started applying eucerin daily. Now my skin feels softer and more moist, but it's still red. Sometimes red and bumpy, especially on my legs.

When I lie down at night, or sometimes even lay against the back of a chair, I feel this prickley needles sensation on my back and sometimes on my legs too (the part that's touching something). It is not comfortable at all. Eventually it goes away when I've been laying in the same position for a while.

What could this be? Is it skin related or something else? Should I try to see a dermatologist?

Additional info:
I can't go for more than a minute or two without gloves when the temperature drops below 30. My hands just get too cold.

I visited a cold climate a few years ago during the winter, and went in and out of buildings, as well as walked around outside for most of an evening. That night I had a horrible rash on my inner thighs. For a few months after that, even when I was back home, my arms and the back of my hands would get these red bumps that would last for days.
