I am 34, have lupus and I am trying to conceive.

I am really concerned about how rough it will be. Firstly, I am worried about my age. Secondly, I want to try to do this drug free, is that possible?

Thirdly, I want to know if any of you have had easy pregnancies. I've heard too much about the difficulties so I need some positive stories to balance out things for me in my head.

Also I am new to this board

Hello everyone

Welcome! I don't get here often, but do wish you well.

Be sure to read the 2nd sticky at the top of this thread as it has to do with fertility and may pertain to you - or not.

My younger son was born when I was almost 35 and he's 22 years old and brilliant!

Good luck! Barbara

I have had Lupus since I was 21, right after my second child was born. I am now 30, will be 31 in April. My little man, Aiden, is now 3 1/2 years old. He is my 1 and only lupus baby lol. My pregnancy with him was pretty easy. I had to have lots of ultrasounds and check-ups since it was considered a high risk pregnancy due to my Lupus. I really had no problems at all. I was in the hospital for the night twice while pregnant, but I believe it was due to having sex, not my lupus lol. I had contractions after having sex and spent the night there getting them to stop. Aiden is a healthy 3 year old. He was born weighing 7.8 and 20 inches long. I continued to take my prednisone and plaquenil, with doctor permission, throughout my whole pregnancy.
