I had those feelings exactly. I went to the doctor and had a pap smear and he couldnt figure it out because he could see nothing wrong.
The Nuvaring can cause irritation to the vagina, especially after sex because the ring pushes up against the bladder and cervix and can irritate it.

The ring can cause irritation, especially if you have it in during intercourse, like the other poster said. You can take the ring out for up to three hours, so maybe it will help to do that during sex. If it is still irritated maybe another method of birth controll would work better for you.
