When I was about 20 years old (14 years ago), I was basically eating about 500 calories a day, at dinner only. NO other meals, no other snacks. I got really, really skinny and sick. When I started eating regularly again, I gained back the weight really quickly. I now find it much harder to lose weight. My question is: Did my bad habits back then ruin my metabolism for the rest of my life???

It's possible, but without starving yourself, it's always hard to lose weight. It's a slow process for most people which is why it is so easy to give up when you don't see dramatic results right away. As long as you're seeing some progress without having to resort to anything drastic, I'd say you're in the same boat we all are. :)

Thanks. I was sad to hear that I may have ruined my metabolism. However, I am trying to speed up my metabolism by eating 6 small meals a day, every 2-3 hours. I have noticed that my energy level has increased and I don't feel as hungry at night. Night was always my hungriest time of the day. So.......hopefully this helps a bit. :)
