I have had a Mirena IUD for 2 years now. For the first 6 months or so, I bled off and on, no big deal. I didn't have a period for a little over a year. Then all of a sudden during the last few months, I have been bleeding for a few days at a time. It's more than just spotting but not a heavy period. These few days of bleeding are less than 3 weeks apart. I called my doctor and all she said was 'that's an IUD, you may bleed some and then not at all for months or years'. I am afraid that there might be something wrong. And I also bleed after sex sometimes. Has anyone had these problems with an IUD? Thanks!
