I've found two totally contradicting diets online for IBS. which is better for IBS if you have diarrhea all the time?
One is whole foods, only high fiber, fresh veggies, no simple carbs or sugar.
The other is soluble fiber only -- plain white bread, rice, plain oatmeal and rice cereal, plain pasta, plain potatoes.

So which works better for IBS with Diarrhea?

Forgot to mention, while the first diet sounds much healthier, the second is meant to be only temporary of course.

Any ideas or thoughts on this?

I have no medical knowledge about this one but I do know that for me the bread, pasta, rice etc works best.

Best of luck!

I find that soluable fibre definitely works better for me. I try to have some type of soluable fibre in my gut at all times. Insoluable fibre really tends to irritate my gut, especially wheat bran, and if I really have to have some I make sure I eat lots of soluable fibre first.

Do you two have chronic diarrhea? I just started in December, after months of right sided abdominal pain. It seems weird it just started and now it's all the time. Does this seem normal for IBS?
