Hi guys, I am new to this but I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis in Nov. of 2001. I have not been able to get this disease under control. At the time I am having an aggressive attack and like some of you am battling the weight loss and difficulty swallowing. I am on methotrexate and prednisone. Is there any hope of ever being able to control this disease?

WELL, I AM FINALLY FEELING A WHOLE LOT BETTER. I AM STILL ON HE METHOTREXATE, BUT NOT ON PREDNISONE. I HAVE MORE ENERGY AND STRENGTH NOW SO AT THE MOMENT LIFE IS GOOD. I NO LONGER NEED HELP GETTING UP FROM A CHAIR OR GETTING DRESSED, BUT I AM STILL NOT AT 100%. I DON'T KNOW IF I EVER WILL BE, BUT FOR THE TIME BEING I AM ENJOYING MOTHERHOOD. I HAVE ALSO LEARNED NOT TO TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. I HOPE THAT ALL OF YOU FEEL BETTER SOON TOO. I WILL KEEP YOU ALL IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
