I have been experiencing alot of chest pain lately and was wondering if anyone else with acid reflux did too? Usually when I am having heart burn it only hurts when I breath...but now its a constant burning like pain. Would feel alot better if I wasn't the only one...at least I would stop worrying about it.
Thanks in advance!

hey. What do you mean by chest pain? I have been attributing all my symptoms as "heartburn" but Im starting to think maybe its something else. Now I get like a slightly tingly sensation in my chest that extends to my arms sometimes. At first I thought it was just dry skin but I use lotion and its not itchy just uncomfortable. Does anybody else have this symptom?

@Scott
Yes I had those feelings...I thought I was having a heart attack!
It must be GERD related as with my new gluten/sugar free diet they have disappeared.

I've written a few messages on this message board about chest pains and not knowing why I them. I was constantly having chest pain on upper left part of the chest, behind left breast bone. I finally went to a cardiologist, convinced it was my heart and heart pain.
The cardiologist ran every test to include me wearing an event monitor for a month. All tests were done and okay. I had echogram, I had EKG, I had nuclear stress test, you name it, I had it. Cardiologist convinced me, finally, it was not my heart. Chest pains continued. Felt like heart pains, not chest pains. I finally went to a gastro doctor. He wanted to do an endoscope. I had also written on these message boards how terrified I was to have an endoscope. It was one of my biggest fears in the world. As it turns out, very easy. Was knocked out, then woke up. Endoscope done.
I do not have acid reflux nor heart burn. Just got the results of my endoscope yesterday. I was diagnosed with the "H Pylori" stomach infection. I've read a lot on the internet about this. The gastro doctor ordered 2 antibiotics. I will start taking them tomorrow. I don't know that I'm still convinced that this stomach infection would cause the heart pain, but I'm told it is still acid backing up into the esophagus causing the pain.
This is only my personal experience. I am not saying that this is what yours is. But I did pursue and go to every kind of doctor I could think of, before I was just diagnosed with this stomach infection. Esophagus was fine. The biopsy from the endoscope is what determined the stomach infection.

Hi
I have chest pain and tightness and I have asthma as well so I find it hard to figure out if it is related to asthma or acid reflux. Does anyone else have this problem?

I had both..the asthma feeling as if you can't get your breath? Like your throat is closing up? And you start to feel panicky which makes it worse?
And chest pains ...under the ribs and left side of chest? ( also the numbness/tingling feeling)
They are GERD related...as with my new diet they disappeared totally!

HI, a question for you. Did the meds for H pylori help? I was dx 3 yrs ago with it. I never had a problem after that but now I am having the same symptoms you are, and my doc didn't check to see if i have it back he just ordered the meds . I don't think thats what it is but my symptoms are close to what you have. Chest pain feeling of fullness, a little heartburn. But the main syptom seems to be right at my esophagus valve. Any way, any info would be appreciated. Thanks Flash

FlashIID -- I took 2 antibiotics for one week, that's all the gastro doctor prescribed for the H Pylori infection. In the meantime, this past Monday I had my gallbladder removed. HIDA scan I had indicated my gallbladder was not functioning.
To answer your question about whether the course of antibiotics cleared up the H Pylori infection, I don't know. I would have to be retested. BUT -- this morning I called the gastro doctor's office back, and asked that they again write prescriptions for the H Pylori infection, that I really believe mine has not cleared up, because even though I just had my gallbladder out I still have nausea and left sided chest pain, that's what I was having when diagnosed with H Pylori. I don't believe it cleared up, so I want to start another round of the antibiotics. He ordered for me today. Will pick up Saturday morning. Not sure if I helped answer your question, but I understand the H Pylori infection can be difficult to clear. I never have heartburn or acid reflux.

Hi all- My 14 year old daughter has acid reflux. She has been having pain in the chest for the last few days. It is right under her left breast in the rib cage. I have been researching it and i came across this thing called Costochondritis. It causes chest pain that feels like heart attack and is often felt on the left more then the right. Check it out. It sounds like what my daughter is experiencing. Maybe it is what you could be feeling. Hope you all feel better.:wave:
