So I made it through my surgery last week. I was in the hospital 3 days. I had the surgery on Thursday morning, and on Saturday, I started the clear liquid diet, and did fine, so on Sunday morning I started the full liquid diet and had oatmeal, and did fine, so my dr let me come home a day early!!! Anyway, he told me that after this week, I could go back to my normal diet. I was pretty surprised by that, but that's what he said. Obviously I am going to take it slow with that. But this week he said I could eat anything that is easy to chew and soft and pliable. So I have been having yogurt and pasta and pudding and stuff like that. I just get so freaked out that I am going to do some sort of harm in there and have the wrapped part of the esophagus come undone. I haven't done any lifting or pulling or straining, so I am sure that it wouldn't happen, but was anyone else nervous about eating more solids than liquids after this surgery? Or am I worrying too much???

Hi, I am 16 and in october 2007 i recently had the same surgery. I had the laprosopic nissen, my gallbladder taken out, and my hernia repaired. The first couple of months I could not eat anything. Everytime I tried to eat the food would get stuck in my throat and I would vomit. Now I can eat everything. I can eat tocos , i have never been able to eat them before. The nissen has really took care of my reflux.
