I have researched this for almost a year now and am convinced it is the procedure for me. Follow this link for a TON of info on it. If you have tried all the other programs out there ''diets'' and just lost a few lbs and keep putting therm back on and then lose put back on yo -yoing most of your life and the gastric by-pass is your only option, then you should really think long and hard about the ''lap-band''...and think about 4 to 5 years on down the road of complications form the lap-ban... Infections, slippaged, rusting,,minor repairs to the band itself. and other complications from having the lap ban. Please get with your Dr or Specialist Doctor's in the field of gastric by-pass for weight loss! ask him to check with the latest complications from lap-band surgerys from the past 5 years...because the lap ban surgery is a new thing out on the medical market right now. 200.000.00 lap-ban-band systems have been ''successfully place worldwide. but how many of those will have complications about 3 to 5 years from now?? The lipo rouyx gastric by-pass is better from what a Dr has told me. I have not did either one so I can't say. this is just my opinion of it, but just letting you know what I heard through the grape-vine. Done laparoscopically. I am nervous, but determined this is the answer. My doctor's recommend the bypass as opposed to lapband. I would love to talk to someone who has recently had the surgery. I'm scheduled for March!!
