I was wondering if anyone has tried using those Electrical Muscle Stimulators. I was thinking about purchasing one to use for my abs. I try to workout my body regularly - however i neglect my abs. I am not fat, but I do have a little chub on my midsection and mainly my love handles. I am 25 years old. I was wondering if anyone has tried them on their abs and what results it got them? My body is in good shape - its just my abs that need the work. And i find myself tired (or lazy) after my regular workouts to work out my abs so i was wondering if i could get decent results. THANKS!

hi....
first of all... i won't be able to be techinal at all.... second of all.. all the thing what i'm gonna say is from personal exp. =)
i had one EPS.. till mah cat chewed off the cords... i used to used it when i'm sleeping.... on mah tummy area... anyway.. my tummy area was already in good shape since i had been doing 100 sip ups a day.. but.. after the machine became malfuctional.. i kinda gainled some flabby thingly around amy waist n belly..( but... i can't say.. it was due to lack of the machine use.. or dua to may complusive eatting at that time...yaya..i developed one around that time..)
anyway.... i just wanted to say... if u wanna buy one... try some cheap one... not expensive ones... in fact.. i've bought another one thru ebay... with very cheap price...n i can't wait to use it again... =)
oh... for the last... if u wanna loose weight like me... remember that.. u have to spend more energy than u take...n... electric muscle stimulator wont burn any energy.. but.. it would help to beuld SOME muscle which burns more.... =)

Correction...
EMS do not build muscle (they cann't tear musle fibres like ressistance training ) They contract muscle groups with electric currents and are good for muscle maintenence.

Exactly Engel!
Russian Muscle Stimulation using an EMS machine is quite painful after a few pulses...and even as strong a muscle contraction as it causes, it does not build realistic muscle. The benefit I can see it having is in toning an untrained muscle, or in certain persons who have muscle wasting. However, with that being said, it can be used to make sure you hit as many muscle fibers as possible, therefore more muscle recovery. Perhaps the low intensity machines allow for that, but it would at least require that you work out in addition to using the device. Most of them that I've seen are low quality...and the last thing I would want is to use a low quality ELECTRICAL device on my body.
If you use one, find out from the manufacturer if a surge protector should be used with it. Seems to me the last thing a person would want when using one would be an amp surge.
