I have just been diagnosed with Glucose Intolerance. I have no idea what this is and am a little confused:confused: . He did look at my levels that I have been keeping track of the past several weeks and that's what he told me I had. They did a test yesterday about 3 hours after I ate lunch and it was 119 which he said wasn't too bad. Now I'm really confused? I don't have insurance and I think he was just trying to be nice in not fully diagnosing me now until I get insurance which I hope will be in march. Please any advice would be very helpful in finding out and understanding what Glucose Intolerance is. Thanks in advance!

I was diagnosed in 1977 at the age of 13 with type 1 but my blood sugar was over 1,000.. At your blood sugar, it is high but was that after a meal or was it a fasting?? It wouldn't make sense for any doctor to not diagnose you just because you can't afford it because it is a life threatening disease..

The 119 was 3 hours after eating lunch. I have been having fasting numbers now between 110 and 140's and last saturday night one reading of 248 before bed. I felt awful and knew I had to check it out. My numbers today have been good but I am also sick and so haven't been eating well at all lately.
