I tried starting a 1300 calorie diet today but I got a craving for pizza!! I then drove to the nearest pizza hut and ordered a large pizza. What can I do for the next time this happens? What is good for when you have really bad cravings?

Next time you have a craving for pizza or something, make yourself a healthy version of it: You can buy low fat english muffins, split one in half, toast it, then spread pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce on it, sprinkle it with part skim mozzeralla cheese and either microwave it to melt the cheese or bake it briefly in the oven to melt the cheese. A lot healthier for you. There are also some healthy recipes for types of pizza you can make at home, but to me this is the easiest. If you must have pepperoni, use 1-2 pieces of turkey pepperoni and cut them up and put them on your mini pizzas.
Try to get healthy recipes of your favorite foods or even vegetarian substitutes. Try not to cave in to the food craving immediately. Sometimes, you can tell yourself, "If I still want that pizza in 3 days, then I will go get it." Often, that helps me stave off cravings as well. Don't act on food cravings immediately.

I say if you want pizza, eat pizza! Just not the whole thing. I slice of pizza is only seomthing like 200 calories so a couple pieces could easily fit into a 1300 calorie diet. I lost 25+ lbs while continuing to eat mcdonalds, chinese, pizza, ice cream, etc. - just by counting overall calories. I dont think anyone should have to give up a food they love.

I like to take whole wheat pitas and top them with sauce, veggies, and cheese. My favorite pizza to make is spinach and mushroom pizza. I LOVE pizza, so I make this low cal version a few times a month.

I'd say the reason you got the urge for pizza was the low calorie count. I get the same way
