Hello,

Last month right before I had my period, I had a tender lump. At that time I was diagnosed with Thryoid Cancer. I had my endo check my breast lump and she sent me for an ultrasound. That was five days later. By that time, my period was over and the ultrasound found nothing but normal tissue. Well, now here I am a couple of days before my period and the tender lump is back. I already have one cancer diagnosis and can not handle another. I went to my OB/GYN and she felt it and now is sending me to a breast surgeon. What do they do?????? I almost want to wait and see if after this period ends if it disapears again before putting myself through the stress of going to a breast surgeon. I have to have surgery for thyroid removal in three weeks and that is stressing me out enough. What do you think? Could it be breast cancer? It is round, firm, tender and somewhat movable, i think

I am not sure what to say about the lump but I do want to reassure you on the thyroid surgery. I just had mine removed the week before Christmas. It was relatively easy. I dreaded it and expected the worst. I only really had about two uncomfortable days and the rest was nothing. I didn't take more than Tylenol once I was home. Good luck to you!!

I lived my life with sore lumpy breats during my period. Thank God age has changed that! It could be fibercystic disease. Try vitamine E (400I.U. 2 times a day), cut out all caffeine and chocolate and see what happens for your next peroid. Me and my daughter had to give up caffeine or suffer with hurting breasts.

BUT, with a history of cancer, I would see that doctor anyway.

Cancer doesn't come and go. If you had a cancer the ultrasound would have shown it. Breasts change with periods as you know. One of the reasons for waiting to mid cycle for a mammogram is some breasts will look entirely different due to hormones. I would not worry about it.
