I took my son to his 2 month old check up and the doctor said he had thrush. So he put him on antibiotics, so ive been givng him that for a couple of days.I just wanted to know how long should i give it. Cause before the antibiotics his tongue looked like it had cottage cheese on it on the back of his tongue, but now since the medicine, it went away, but his tongue is still white. Do i need to continue it until his tongue is back to the normal pink?

Unless your Doctor has told you otherwise it is very important to finish all of the antibiotic you were given for your baby. If you don't the infection could come back. You should call the doctor's office and get clarification. Good luck!

Always finish ALL antibiotics, regardless of the type of problem, regardless of the age of the patient! Sometimes the problem seems to be getting better because the symptoms start to decrease, but if you stop the treatment the bug comes back -- and more fierce than ever! This is a cause of the problems we now have with too many antibiotic-resistant strains of staph.
