i have not drank coke for 3 weeks and, i dont really feel like a coke in particuallar but it would be nice to have something other than water sometimes. Tongiht i was at a bbq and was offered a coke.. i said no thanks and had more water but i was wondering, because i had a horrible headache from the lack of caffeene, the first 8 days..if i were to have one.. would i end up feeling like i wanted anotehr a few hours later or the next day? .. i gave up the coke because i always had to have one with me and if i didnt have any first thing in the morning, i was so less energetic and grumpy... im enjoying not needing that but wonder if its like smoking.. have one, ill want anotehr? any thoughts?? thanks :)

i gave up caffeine totally for a year in 1996, due to allergy issues. when i went back onto coffee (not decaf) i had an instant reaction of being hyper and a headache,,etc.

i did stay off coke as well, but i found the diet stuff was actually full of chemicals making me worse (aspartamene).

like any drug you QUIT and then go back to, the symptoms/side effects are instant and more intense because the body has a recall/sensitivity to the drug.. the symptoms are more obvious because of the detox period.

why just coke? or is it caffeine in general?

to be fair you dont have to drink plain water; there are flavoured waters and juices to dilute;

thanks soyoukan.. coke is the only caffene i drink.. i dont drink coffees or any type of hot drink.. coke has been it for years, morning noon and night.. i looked at the supermarket at those flavoured waters but im also on a diet and noticed they have suger in them, i dont want the sugar either so maybe ill just have to keep doing the water thing :)

thank you!
