Probably the same benefits as running or using an elliptical trainer. Cardio and lower body work, plus you get to swing your arms =P. Last time I in-line skated was a while ago(really long time ago), and I felt some lower back strain, but other than that I think it's a fun way to exercise and can be used as cardio.

i would b :) if i could in _________ skate but i don't no how 2. i never had the chance 2 learn 2 roller skate or ice skate as a child :(. now i have a bad back and even though i bought some in _________ skates to teach myself i fear i will fall and really mess up my back. i no it will really help my legs out and it looks like a lot of fun 2 me. people r always in________skating out here.

This specifically works the glutes and (unlike running or elip training) puts more focus on the outer thigh, since the pushing motion is out and back.
