Hello there,

Just to let you know I am thinking of you all. I am in such a dark place at the moment - things are getting to be quite bad with my other disabilites. I lose the use of my arms and hands a lot more now, and apart from it scaring the heck out of me, find it so frustrating. This isn't connected to my SLE. A whole new group of Dr's take care of this part of my life.

Psychologically, this and other things are having a big effect on me so I thought I would let you alll know that I am with you in spirit and mind.

I will be back though - soon I hope.

Hello ladies,

My present problems unfortunately are not new. In fact, I have had a nerve and muscle wasting illness for more than 20 years, but lately it is in a very active stage. Before it crept up on me in little episodes, but now it is hitting me quite quickly. I am due to see my neurologist again soon so things can be looked at in more depth. Unfortunately it is progressive so I know I should be used to it. Nothing can be done to change what is happening to me, but it gets me so mad at times.

I do appreciate your loving words - and Vee thank you for thinking of my husband, I know he will appreciate it when I tell him. I can feel those lovely pk's too.

Back with you all - again !! I am just recovering from a bout of illness caused by a germ in the bowel - Campylobacter. Gosh it made me so very, very ill. I caught it from undercooked chicken. NOT at home I hasten to add, but I am sure in in my very favourite Indian Restaurant. This is the only place I eat chicken.

Please be careful when you cook chicken as this is the most common source of this infection. It is present in raw chicken from being on display on the shelves in supermarkets and so on. Always make sure it is cooked thoroughly ladies.

Dear GW, What an ordeal. Here's a coincidence: our neighbor went thru the same thing & got the same Dx, and he also suspects his almost-daily Indian take-out. You must have felt wretched. Oh my goodness! Usually when you think of chicken, salmonella comes to mind, didn't have a clue about the campflobactor (sp). Scary stuff to be sure, glad to hear you are on the mend:)

Golden so glad you are feeling better. Ugh!.....how horrible you must have felt!! I think of you and your wonderful advice often. Hope you get stronger and stronger every day.
