I've just recently started to get something close to a cold. I have a horrible cough, a sore throat, which is very dry and isn't soothed no matter what i do, and i've completely lost my voice to the point where it's a soft whisper, though sometimes it can be louder and a bit raspy. I'm not coughing up blood, but when I cough, I can taste it. These symptoms came on very quickly, I didn't have them the day before yesterday, but woke up yesterday morning and had them. I'm pretty sure this isn't a normal cold, does anyone think I should be concerned about coughing and tasting blood, or any of these symptoms in particular?

this sounds like a throat infection (possible laryginitis where you lose your voice etc) and this does really hurt. i had this myself prior to getitng bronchitis. i would see your doctor for a examination incase the throat infection spreads to your chest. hope your better soon x
