You can get gas from drinking soda, esp. if you have a good amt of stomach acid.
You can get gas from chewing gum & swallowing air. Some people develop a habit of just swallowing air -- without gum.
Of course it's also possible that the gas & pressure you are experiencing are the result of something you ate MANY hours earlier.
Have you tried taking a probiotic supplement, or yogurt with active cultures, on a daily basis? Some people find that is helpful for gas. When guts get taken over by the "bad bugs," there's usually more pain, bloat, & pressure than when the "good bugs" own the place.
Best wishes.

well i dont drink soda and chewing gum seems to help my problems. i tried takin actizymes for my stomach which seem to work for a wile but the problems come back later on . i also would take beano ounce in a while , helps wheni eat. but i think iam going to take a diff approach and look into possible food alergys maybe. thaks for your advise. When i would go out to a bar and dirnk a beer i have noticed that i can go longer without eating and not have as much stomach pain. i think cause the beer make me burp .

I have the same problem, if I don't get a chance to eat or am afraid to eat because of the pain and bloating, say if I'm going out ans still want to fit into a dress I won't eat, but that seems to backfire and I will get pain and bloating anyways, my dr told me that is definitely IBS because no matter what I do I stil get the pain and bloating and discomfort. What a miserable problem. What sucks is that they say IBS is not that big of a deal and no one can understand the misery involved unless they have it.
