After this post I'm going to go workout and not weigh myself for a week!! Don't get discourged I'm sure it will come off fast. I think everyone in America gained 5 lbs yesterday!! ;0)

I doubt you really put on that much weight and its probably just still sitting in your gut. Give it a few days and I bet you'll lose most of it not all of it

Generally, you don't gain 5 lb. in 1 day. A lot of that weight is water retention, which is often caused by increasing your salt intake (margaritas, pizza, other junk food). Some of it can also be caused by constipation or the food waste still working its way through your bowels. I doubt you gained 5 lb. in 1 day. Probably the numbers will go down in a day or 2. Good luck!

To gain 5 pounds of fat during the Superbowl would require you to eat 17,500 calories <BURP!>
What REALLY happened is that you ate a lot of salty snacks that caused you to retain water like Gang Busters. Go for a couple days with VERY little salt and see if you don't pee out all that weight.
A one day pig-out isn't usually too damaging.

I agree with Lenin completely.
And how can you say the 1 lb. was hard to take off? It's only Tuesday, SuperBowl was Sunday - so it came off overnight basically right? Just hang in there. You said you gained it over the weekend, so I don't think your giving it ample time to cruise through the old system! ;) Patience (I know, I have little too!!)

Well with all the "hard work" trying to lose a pound, I lost a total of 2 pounds so far towards the 5 pound weight gain, (I CAN'T BELIEVE I have GAINED 5 POUNDS IN ONE WEEKEND AND it seems that it is TAKING DAYS TO take off a pound, I am working out and eating healthy and the pounds still takes forever to come off-
