Hi there,

I am being treated for small airways disease which is a form of asthma. I am being treated with steroids. I was wondering if it is possible to catch a common cough while being on steroids? Also, is it possible to catch a cough with asthma?

Many thanks!

Hi
Yes, it is certainly possible to catch a common cough while on steroids, and also when you have asthma. My 14 yr old son has been on steroids for asthma since he was 3, and has had may colds and coughs in that time. These can often be the trigger for an asthma attack, so it pays to be aware, as the asthma symptoms could worsen due to these infections.

Hope this helps, Mandy.
