Hey guys.. So I drink a LOT of water... but I was wondering, because I've been reading lately about how the size of your stomach affects how hungry you feel. I.e. If you eat smaller meals, over time your stomach will shrink and then you won't need to eat as much to feel full. On the other hand, if you are used to very large meals, your stomach would be larger, and you will feel hungry more easily.
So, if you drink a lot of water at once, will this stretch your stomach and make it larger/ therefore wanting more food? If so, I would try to space out my water drinking more. As it stands, I'll chug a half-liter at a time throughout the day, but don't want to do this if it is causing my stomach to stretch.

I haven't had any trouble with this.. actually, when I drink a lot of water at once, I don't want to eat as much. It helps me eat less and makes me feel full when I drink a good amount of water along with my meals. I'm not so sure if it would actually stretch out the stomach making you hungrier in the future or not.. but I know water has never made me eat more!

if your stomach is backed up with food then I believe you can fill it with water and maybe cause some stretch, but you would have to be full of food. And drink the amount you said but if you are not backed up then the water doesn't stay in the stomach if falls right down the drain. but it is better to have lots of water with your food, it helps with digesting as well. When you eat, in-between the chewed food is air. That can cause bloating and gas, when you drink lots of water, you fill up faster as Turr said you feel full. Your original stomach size is only the size as your fist you can stretch it with too much of anything.
