Would like to know what is normal range and what isn't on the fraction of the Hida scans? I've tried looking on some web sites, I guess I haven't found the right one yet.

Pokey2 02-06-2007, 01:58 AM Would like to know what is normal range and what isn't on the fraction of the Hida scans? I've tried looking on some web sites, I guess I haven't found the right one yet. Pokey2 Sponsor Titchou 02-06-2007, 06:58 AM I believe the cut off is about 33%. Below that it's considering malfunctioning. Above that is OK. There have been some posts about that in the past and I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact number. sadtummy 02-06-2007, 09:13 AM I have read somewhere that the normal range is 35%-75%. Over 75% probably means you have one powerful gall bladder! Pokey2 02-07-2007, 12:59 AM Thanks for these answers. I had a Hida scan back in '02 the fraction was at 56% the dr. (a surgeon) ask me to have it done again in 6mos. I didn't because I didn't think it was going to change that much. He told me that insurance wouldn't pay for having the gall bladder out at that range. Now, I have a hurting in the gall bladder area quit frequently, not a bad hurting just at times. I'm thinking if it could be that it would probably show up now. I also have a fatty liver. I have hurt up under my ribs on the right side, anyway the dr did say that the liver could hurt, too. This is a lower hurting now. I ask my family dr. about the results at the time he said it wasn't my gall bladder, now lately when I brought it up, he said he was borderline. I'm just confused. I know sometimes tests don't always show up. I guess that hurting is bothering me metally, just wondering. It will be about 5 yrs. since that test. Pokey2:confused: Titchou 02-07-2007, 07:05 AM Did you ever have an ultrasound for stones? At any rate, I'd be getting back to the doctor and getting tested. Sounds like the gb is acting up. |
