i once saw a man on the discovery channel who once had a missing arm, but replaced an arm from a cadaver to make it his own. his new hand seemed to function properly and i was fascinated by it. does anyone know what we call that kind of surgery? ty

There was news about a year or so ago where doctors did a hand transplant or replaced a hand surgically. I'm sorry I don't recall any specifics on it, but I did see it on the news and there has been something like this done. I don't know if you could find something about it on the net or not. It would be worth the try.

Check the Discovery or Health channels website, like Medical Mysteries...its for the Channel itself. They JUST aired that program of the man receving a hand transplant...they might give you docotr's names, or other websites. Good Luck.
