If I came home and just did some ab work, arms etc...with no cardio would that do anything for me??? I will be getting a recumbant bike, which is the best thing for me post-back surgery. I have a treadmill but it really isn't great for my back.
Thanks

You need the cardio to burn calories, which will lead to fat loss. If you have had back surgery, and can only do the recumbent bike, by all means, do it. It's still cardio, and will still get your heart rate up, which will in turn burn calories.

Good luck!:)

yes right now if thats all you can do then yes mam it will help you and when you get your bike just try it for about 10 -15 minutes for a few days until it gets eazier for ya, if your just starting out?... doing any type of exercise will be good for ya, and if you just take it eazy for the first two weeks I'm sure you will be able to get on that treadmill or stay on your bike for a long time at least 30-45 minutes.
just take it slow and eazy
be sure to have you a good soft pillow to sit on when you ride your bike...maybe not but when I use to ride a recumbant bike my butt always got numb
if you had back surgey be sure and check with your Dr before doing any type of exercise...waking would be good I would think but I'm not a Dr.
Good Luck to ya.

luckily, I am very active :) Most wouldn't suspect that I had a two level fusion two years ago. I got my bike and I do about 30-60 mins a day depending on what else I do. 30-40 with toning routine, 45-60 if I am just doing cardio. I try to alternate days. After two weeks, I can see a difference and my hubby sees it too. My arms don't look much better, but working on it!!
