For about two months I have had a burning sensation in my stomach. It is also itchy all the time and growls often. It seemed to start when I started taking CEFPODOXIME for a severe sinus infection. It has gotten better, but very slowly. I have no diarrhea or vomitting at all. I only have one normal BM each day. I do get gas, stomach bloating, and stomach pain that moves around. Lower abdominal both left and right side iritation nearly constant but seems to get worse when I sit for any duration. I haven't been able to sleep on my stomach for the past 2 months, and no my back is starting to hurt. I have had a HIDA scan, stress test, EGD, gallbladder ultrasound, bloodwork, h. pylori, chest x-ray and an abdominal ultrasound. All these test came back normal. What can I do. I am starting to become depressed thinking that this will never go away. Please help. ANY ADVICE?

Hi

I just noticed your post.

I think since the discomfort is in your lower stomach, you might want to insist on having a colonoscopy and rule out anything gone amiss in the lower bowel.

Hmm, my stomache burns sometimes and when it does it gets a little itchy too, it also growls and makes wierd noises but I havent had any of those tests done. I think you should follow Ish's advice and have a colonoscopy.

hmm, stomach ache could signal a colon problem? you mean if your stomach burns above the belly button (at base of ribs) that this could be a bowel hurt instead of reflux? never heard of that, but i sure don't want a colonoscopy - oh, the prep! but my stomach does burn alot.

HI !

The part of your post about the "lower abdominal both left and right side" is why I suggested a colonoscopy. I misunderstood the area you were describing.

The prep is not much fun, I agree. I got so hungry, but making trips to the bathroom keeps your mind off the hunger for the most part. :jester:

I hope you feel better soon.
