My daughter is 12 and has been under a dr. care for 2 years. They think she might have Chrohns, but we were told it could take 3 years to get a firm diagnosis. She has severe stomach pain and has had 3 endoscopic scopes along with 3 colonoscopy scopes. She is inflamed from the esophogus all the way to the colon. They just started her on a Celiac (gluten free) diet along with the lactose diet, acid reflux diet (she doesn't have it but since she is inflamed we hope to keep that area calm) and she also gets migraines, so we leave out those foods. I just recently read that stomach pain is not a Celiac symptom, it actually said that there is no gasto pain.
Does anyone have any ideas??????????????????????? she is labeled with Ulcerative Colitis until they get a frim diagnosis.
My daughter is very frustrated and now is asking WHY HER??

Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have they taken any tissue samples?

My daughter is 14 and was dianosed with UC in October of last year. My understanding is that UC only affects the colon, not the small intestine or stomach.

Her pathology reports came back after her colonoscopy as having severe inflamatory bowel disease. I guess from the appearance and symptoms, her doctor felt comfortable with diagnosing UC.

I hope you get some answers soon!!
