OK so I took my temp this morning(8dpo) and it was only 96.89! I didn't think that sounded right so I took it again with a diff. thermometer, after I had gotten out of bed and gotten dressed, and it was 98.6! This was only 30 minutes after the first time I took it. I've taken my temp before after getting out of bed and getting dressed and it always goes down, I think because of getting out of my warm bed and cozy jammies:) SO I was suprised to see it go way up! Now I don't know what to put my temp as this morning. Should I go with the first one? If that is accurate, why would it be sooo low at only 8dpo? I always have a 14 day LP.

I would go with the lowest, just to be safe. Is it possible its an implantation dip????? This is the time for it. Go with the first one and see what your temp is tomorrow. Good lUck!!!

I'm new to temping so I cannot offer any input.
Though, I do have a question:D. Is it absolutely necessary to take the temperature at the same time every day? Sometime I wake up at 5:00 am, sometimes 5:30 am and sometimes 6:00 am on weekends. I record the temp whenever I wake up. Will it make a huge difference if the temperatures are read at different times?

It's said that your temperature increases .2 degrees every hour while you're sleeping.... so yes if you wake at different times you are most certainly getting skewed temp readings.
I'm a crazy sleeper too - and I set the alarm on my cell to wake me - it's not as harsh as the alarm clock and I've been getting rather consistent readings. Then I roll over and go back to sleep. I have one of those thermometers that keeps the last temp in memory. So - I don't have to worry about it right then. But temping is important so I know I don't forget it - I enter it into the daily log as soon as I really get up.

Good luck - it COULD be the implantation dip - then again it could be something else... I hate the 2ww... if only we could turn blue or something the moment we've conceived... I'd be more than happy to walk around for a day as blue as the summer sky if I could only KNOW! My fingers are crossed for you!

I also set the alarm on my cell for 7:00 am. I keep a piece of paper and pen and the thermometer on my night stand. Everything is right there within reach. I enter mine in online when I get up for the day. I'm kind of excited about temping...I wish I had to take it more than once a day lol :p
Good luck ishade!!

Thanks ladies. Now it makes sense why sometimes my temperatures vary so much. I just started a few days ago and here are my readings. Notice how much they vary. I guess i need to take this temping thing a lot more seriously.

It is also important to have at least 3hours of sleep before you temp, and don't drink anything before hand. Also, you should use the same thermometer everyday. If one temp looks funny, re-temp asap with the same thermometer.
