Yes I am a chocoholic. I love chocolate. I have tried to convince myself that chocolate doesn't effect my GERD (like alcohol doesn't) but it does. I tested myself the other day, my GERD has been greatly reduced lately so I ate 5 hershey bars. That night my GERD came back with a vengence. If what I read, that chocolate weakens the muscle, then I will try not to eat it. Pretty soon everything I enjoy will be off limits. Whats the point then?

Ever tried to eat maybe half a hershey bar? or a quarter of one? but 5?? I know chocolate doesnt like my stomach well, and it does flare up my reflux, but having a little bit every now and then doesnt affect it that much.

I normally don't eat 5 but I noticed that chocolate was bothering my reflux before and I was feeling pretty good so what better way then eat a bunch and see what happens. This way it proves one way or another. In the past (non reflux days) I use to buy those giant size hershey bars, this time it was the small ones.
