Hello everyone!

Well ALL my meds are different and I am not on near us much as before now the problem I am so tired all the time. Here is what the pdoc did she took me slowly off of lamitcal to 15 mg of abilify and than slowly off of celexa to 10 mg of proxaz. The first few wks I loved it! I had energy and all but it was celexa and abilify i believe or was it my mania??? Who knows any more??? Because when I am mania i paint the house and organize but I will paint like 3 rooms in 3 days. I told my pdoc I felt so good to send me back to work so she did. Than I got there and was like duh........ i didnt know what i was doing because by than i was off celexa and had provac. I was forgetful and numbers turned around, ect I didnt know what happened, i cried! Than I called pdoc who said its the med to give it time and take more (20 mg) since I had been on for 2 wks by now but how much time? I cant work like this?~! Than the next visit it was no better so she took me off of it so I am now just on 15 mg of ability and 200 mg of Topamax. I am so tired all the time though!!!! no matter what!!! is is depression??? it didnt happen at first w/the meds? i havent gotten a pay check in so long and i am so tired of this!!! please help!

Hi Libragirl,

poor you. I have found that the meds can take up to a month to stabilise you. Your poor system is really having to metabolise lots of changes here. I find i can get quite tired and my mind can't cannot the dots. What actually happened for you to change the meds?

Hi Librarygirl

You are tired all of the time due to the side effects from your meds. Abilify has two side effects a) hyperness or b) tiredness. Topamax also can cause one to become very droopy, lethargic, or tired as well. How does one combat these issues? By alternating the times they take the medications. It would be a good idea if you contact your pdoc and discuss the best ways to take the medications and when to take the medications, or if they should adjust the amounts given to you for right now too.

Did the pdoc take you from zero to 200 mgs of Topamax all at once? If so, that would be a shock to the system. I had that happen to me at one time. It does a jolt to the body and will cause you to be very lethargic, slow moving and feel like you can't budge an inch for about 2 weeks, but soon you will be back to normal again feeling like your old self. She must of had a reason for doing so or she wouldn't have made such an increase by that kind of measure.

Well, you hang in there and take care of yourself.

Many hugs

Coffeegirl
